Day 2 - Mungo National Park

Day 2 Mungo National Park

Budget tip to keeping warm at night in the outback - sleep with your socks on!

Key highlights "everything" "best day ever" "sliding down the sand dunes"

We headed to the Mungo National Park visitor centre where we learnt about the areas significant natural and cultural heritage. Fast fact: This site was added to the world heritage list in 1981 in recognition of its Aboriginal heritage and the evidence of past climates preserved in its landscapes. After inspecting the Mungo Woolshed, built out of locally hand cut cypress pine in 1869 we set off on a pleasant 70km loop track across the lake floor to the walls of china, over to the dune to the mallee country then around the north-eastern side of the lake.
