Day 3 - Chowilla to Hawker

We left Chowilla and headed to the Big Orange, we were so excited to see the Big Orange because we had driven past it so many times but never stopped and went inside. When we got there it looked like a deserted desert and you could roll one of the tumble weeds across it. That meant that it was closed and we couldn't go inside which we were very disappointed about.

We drove through Burra and then made our way to Hawker for the night. That night dinner was a disaster and we are now certain that we have a jinks when it comes to cooking meatloaf.

What happened in Cooper Peedy.
The last time we cooked meatloaf was two years ago when we were in Cooper Peedy. We were in a hurry to go on the mine tour and that night Mrs Reda didn't pull out the frozen meatloaf so it could defrost, so we had frozen meatloaf. We tried cooking it as fast as we could but it didn't work. We had to cook sausages instead, but after the tour we cooked the meatloaf which took ages.

What happened in Hawker.
At Hawker we had the meat loaf defrosted but, Reda pulled out something else because he thought that it was meatloaf. He heated what he thought was the meatloaf and Nathan went to take it off the heat and that's when he discovered that it wasn't meatloaf it was actually the vanilla slice that Mrs Reda made and now the slice was all hot and it looked like mush!
